Queta Jane Carroll

Queta Jane Carroll, peacefully, passed away at her home in Huntsville, Texas on December 19, 2023, following a prolonged illness. She was born on September 11,1946 in Mexia, Texas to Rufus A. and Ruby M. Lewis.  She was joined in marriage to Alvin Ray Carroll on July 6,1963, they were married until his passing in 1980. She later met Jack Popham and they spent 25 years together until his passing in 2021. They had many years of happy adventures and were longtime residents of Montgomery, Texas.

Queta was a wonderfully unique lady. She had a brilliant mind and a quick wit. She could see the funny even in the toughest times, she faced adversity with grace. Queta worked for USPS for most of 20 years, starting on machine sorting mail at night to designing a very large part of the recycling for the Texas Region of the postal service. She enjoyed many dear friends from years there.

She is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Lee Carroll.

Queta is survived by her daughter, Kelly Carroll and sister, Dana Sue Doyle, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, December 22,2023, at 11 a.m. in the Old Union Cemetery.
