Rebecca Ann “Becky” Morton passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at her home surrounded by her husband and children. She was born to Alva Ray and Delia Theresa (Bouchard) Fortson in Corsicana, Texas on December 7, 1952. Becky worked twenty years for the Limestone County Sherriff Department in Groesbeck, Texas.
Becky was very talented person as she played the piano and sang, was an excellent cook, painted, refurbished furniture, enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing bingo as well as sewing. She especially enjoyed family games during the holidays, but most of all loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her daughters remember her as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved everyone very much and made sure they knew it; she was the rock of the family. She was so very strong, resilient and not scared of anything. She was a small woman, but she could be very intimidating when she would give you the eye. At some point, the daughters might have feared her. However, she has given all of them the most wonderful memories of fishing and hunting, dancing, and painting in the kitchen.
Becky was a person with a huge heart for animals. She leaves behind her dog- Peaches, but her Layla and Peanut predeceased her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son in-law Michael Scott, father and mother in-law Don and Linda Morton.
She is survived by her husband Steven Ray Morton, daughters Cindy Castlow and husband Robbie, Windy Campbell and husband Todd and Merry Oden; siblings Robert (Bob) Speck and wife Mary, Brenda Roark and Danny Ray Fortson; mother in-law, Elaine Bounds and brother in-law Gary Morton, sister in-law Georgia Shelby and husband Don; Grandchildren Tyler Castlow, Chelsy Zuniga and husband Amador (Bubba), Tracy Neal, Britnie Ibanez and husband Arturo, Steven Starkey, Blake Starkey, Colton Campbell and wife Katelyn, Ryan Starkey and wife Mika, Morgan Campbell, Sara Thompson, Scott Parson and wife Adriana and Tyler Smith and wife Patience; 15 great grandchildren.
