Ricky Eugene Fowler passed away July 4, 2026 in Waco, Texas at the age of 72. Services are pending.
Ricky was born January 9, 1954 in Groesbeck, Texas to John and Frances Elizabeth (Kerzee) Fowler. He lived in Mexia most of his life. After graduating from Mexia High School in 1972, he began classes in welding and scuba diving at TSTC and where he graduated with an Associate degree.
Ricky was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and spending time with them was the highlight of his life. He didn’t have many hobbies, but he was a hugh Nascar fan.
Ricky had an outgoing personality, always smiling, and friendly to everyone he met. It was very evident that he lived his life trying to help others as he served as Reserve Police officer and worked for the Mexia Fire Department for 30 years. He also worked for 13 years as a Jailer for the Limestone County Sheriff’s office, five years for Head Start and in the Oklahoma Oil Field for three years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Frances Fowler.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Rachel Fowler; children, Christopher Lane Fowler and wife, Katrina of Schertz, Chance Alexander Fowler of Mexia, Christopher Ryan Barber of Mexia, and David George Hays of Mexia; grandchildren, Shawn Lane Davis of Coolidge, Jason Levi and Lillian Aiko Fowler of Mulberry. FL, Cyrus Lane Fowler of Schertz, and Myles Atlas Fowler of Shertz; sister, Vicky Renfro of Georgetown; and numerous other relatives and friends.
