Ricky Payne

Ricky Lynn Payne, beloved husband, father and friend, 58, of Mexia, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, in Groesbeck.   A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home chapel in Mexia with Pastor Debra Turner officiating.

Ricky was born September 17, 1962 in Sugarland, Texas to Raymond and Kathey Gibson Payne. Ricky spent most of his life in Mexia after graduating from Leon High School and made a living as a heavy equipment operator.

A fun loving person, Ricky loved and kept his family amused.  He loved to fish, Bar-B-Que, drink Keystone beer and especially eat.  In his later years, he followed the Lord with the love and encouragement of his family. Ricky was a member of the Journey Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ricky is survived by his fiance, Tonya Rodriguez, his children, Melissa Slater, Ricky Payne, Jr., Kasey Payne and wife Katie, Jaiden Rodriguez, Krystal Alvarez and husband, Jorge and Brandi Rodriguez and husband, Terry; Grandchildren, Page and Autumn Payne, Adam Payne, Lucas Payne, Heaven and Harley Donaho, Georgia Slater and Karla Alvarez; Siblings, Vicky Linn and husband Paul, Ronald Payne and wife, Sandy, Becky Green, Sidney Ray Payne and wife, Yvette, Jody Payne and husband Sonny Young, Andrea Shields, Chelaine Payne, Lisa Boyd and Husband, Dale  and Steve Green and wife Margaret. Ricky is further survived by special niece and nephew, Amanda and Kyle Calame and many, many nieces and nephews who affectionately called him, Uncle Monkey.
