Shirley Ann Lyons

Shirley Ann Lyons, of Mexia, passed away August 11, 2026 in Waco, Texas at the age of 69. She was born on November 7, 1956 to Charles Douglas Walpole and Joan Caldwell Campbell in Madisonville, Texas. She retired from HEB Pharmacy in Mexia after 18 years of service.

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and daughter. Being a mother was great, but nothing could compare to being a grandmother; the grandchildren were extra special. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family.

Shirley never met a stranger, was always friendly, and treated everyone the same. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, gardening, and going to garage sales, thrift markets, and flea markets. She also enjoyed being with her church family at the Christ Gospel Fellowship Church where she was a member.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Walpole; stepfather, Virgil Campbell; husband, Roger L. Lyons, Sr.; grandson, Timmy C. Robinson; and nephew, Jory W. Walpole.

Shirley is survived by her mother, Joan Campbell; daughters, Jennifer and Jimmy Owens of Mexia and Cheryl Robinson and Donal Douglas of Groesbeck; son, Roger Lyons, Jr. and Eden Menard of Mexia; brother, Charles Walpole, Jr; sister, Marcy Walpole of Mexia; grandsons, Jimmy D. Owens, Jr., Josh Owens, Jordan Owens, and Stetson Menard; granddaughters, Crystal Robinson and Paislee Menard; great grandson, Adriel Owens; and great granddaughter, Annabell Owens.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2026 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Wortham Cemetery.
