Sidney Patrick Fairchild

Sidney Patrick Fairchild was born on March 17, 1941 to Mathew and Eva Fairchild.

Sidney was born in Sherman, Texas then moved to Monterey, Mexico where he lived during his entire childhood.  He attended elementary and high school in Monterey.

After high school, Sidney moved back to the United States where he attended college.  Sidney became a park ranger after college.  He moved to and worked at Caddo Lake State Park where he met his future wife, Ruby.

Sidney and Ruby were married in March 1980 in San Antonio, Texas.  They soon moved to San Antonio to be near and take care of Sidney’s father, where they remained until his father’s death.  Sidney and Ruby then moved to Waco, Texas to be close to family and friends.

Sidney Fairchild passed away on January 1, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease.

Sidney was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; father, Mathew; mother, Eva; and sister, Patricia.

Sidney is survived by sons, Larry Hughes and Steve Hughes and wife, Shara; granddaughters, Kimberly Nixon and Ashley Boldra; grandsons, James Hughes and Blake Hughes; and many great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the Mexia Cemetery with Pastor Roger Huff officiating.
