Stanley Gulley

Stanley Ray "Butch" Gulley passed away, December 25, 2017, at his home in Mexia at the age of 60. Memorial services will be 2 PM, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Chaplain Danny Tomlinson officiating. Stanley, or "Butch" as he was affectionately known by his family, was born January 29, 1957 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Stanley B. and Mary L. Hughey Gulley, the oldest of five children. He grew up on a farm where he enjoyed riding horses and all aspects of country living; he never outgrew his love of being a cowboy. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and attending drag races. However, nothing was more important than spending time with his family. Living close, Butch and his mother were able to spend a lot of quality time together. Among some of the many things they enjoyed doing were traveling to family reunions and eating out, especially, on Friday nights. Butch was a truck driver for over 23 years. He drove for several companies in the Mexia area, prior to recent health issues. He had an outgoing personality, always friendly and made friends easily. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley B. Gulley; and sister-in-law, Lois Gulley. Stanley is survived by his loving mother, Mary Gulley of Mexia; brothers, John Gulley and wife, Ellen of Weatherford, Cecil Gulley and wife, Sherry of Gary, TX and Ricky Gulley of Hinton, OK; sister, Pam Seay and husband, Jeff of Speegleville; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
