Tommie Faye Sims, of Shiloh, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 30, 2025 at the age of 88. She was the last of six siblings.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Blan Crane and Pastor David Snow officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Russell Cobbs, Ronnie Sims, Richard McGowan, Joe Williams, Tye Williams, and Jake Williams will serve as pallbearers.
Tommie Faye was born on October 8, 1937 in Lavender (Limestone County), Texas to Charlie Thomas and Tommie Beatrice (Barge) Cobbs. She retired from the Mexia State School after many years of service. Her natural ability to be a caregiver proved to be a blessing to the many she served both in her job at MSS and to the many individuals she cared for. She affectionately became known as “MiMi”.
Tommie Faye married her lifelong partner, Billy Dwain Sims, on July 25, 1957; they were Blessed with 61 wonderful years together prior to his death in 2018. Her daily life consisted of serving the Lord, caring for her family and others. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Happiness for Tommie Faye meant being surrounded by her family, having plenty of time to enjoy her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and family reunions. She was also an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
In her younger years, Tommie Faye enjoyed sports, especially volleyball and basketball. She enjoyed cooking and was known to be a very good cook. Everyone looked forward to Thanksgiving as she was famous for making the best Chicken & Dressing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Tommie Cobbs; husband, Billy D. Sims; and daughter-in-law, Shelia Sims.
Tommie Faye is survived by her son, Charles Sims; grandchildren, Cameron Sims and wife, Dallas and Samantha Sims; great grandchildren, Adleigh Sims, Sonny Sims, and Creighton Sims; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
