Daniel Anthony Pasteka, of Mexia, passed away July 30, 2020 in Waco, Texas at the age of 64.  Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2020 in the Evergreen Cemetery, 560 Evergreen St., Paris, Texas with Pastor Shane Winters officiating.

Daniel was born January 22, 1956 in Needville, Texas to Frank Pasteka and Lillie Krobot Smith.  He graduated from North Lamar High School in Paris, Texas.  He began working in the oil field at a young age and after working in various positions, completed his last 15 years, of a 40-year career, as a consultant.

Daniel was an outdoorsman with a variety of interests.  He enjoyed fishing for crappie, hunting, took great pride in raising a garden, collected Classic Cars and like to watch old westerns.  However, his greatest joy was spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren.  Like most grandfathers, he thought his grandchildren were the greatest, he loved his children, but nothing could compare to the grands.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Pasteka; brother, Reuben Pasteka; and stepfather, Tommy Smith.

Daniel is survived by his loving children, Derek Pasteka and wife, Leah of Hewitt and Kayla Hogue and husband, Roger of Wortham; grandchildren, Colby Pasteka, Blake Pasteka and Trenton Hogue; mother, Lillie Smith; sisters, Sandra Burns and husband, Kenneth of Henderson and Laura Bolick and husband, Keith of Maud; brothers, Milton Pasteka and wife, Angel of Carthage and Clinton Pasteka and wife, Jan of Quitman; long time special friend Teresa Allen and  a number of nieces and nephews.
