Janis Bosley

September 4, 1953 — March 13, 2021

Janis Bosley

“Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.  Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”

Janis Massey Bosley, age 67 passed away suddenly on March 13, 2021 at her residence in Wortham.  She was born September 4, 1953 in Cherry Point, North Carolina to Charles Howard Moore and Evelyn Fay May Moore.  Janis was a member of First Baptist Church Wortham.

Upon graduation from Hubbard High School, Janis worked as a waitress, telephone operator, bookkeeper, secretary and then began her career at Centex Citizens Credit Union on July 1, 1986.  She worked in all areas of the Credit Union and even was one of three employees when it was located at the Mexia State School. She worked full time and went to college at night.  Janis was dedicated to obtaining a higher education and received her Master’s Degree from UT Tyler.  She became President and CEO of Centex in 1998.

Janis was instrumental in the growth of Centex Citizens and oversaw the expansion of the credit union in Corsicana and Ennis.  She always took pride that she had a “servant’s heart” and that is what it took to work at Centex Citizens.  The members of Centex Citizens were her number one priority – “always take care of the members.”

Janis was married to Johnny B. Massey for 32 years.  After Johnny B’s passing, she took solace overlooking her land and lake at her home in Wortham.  She always had trouble with her cows getting out and one day her neighbor Danny Bosley called about her cows being out – this time on his property. After a short courtship, Danny and Janis were married on September 3, 2019.  Janis had a credit union conference to attend the next day, so that was their honeymoon.

Janis is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Moore and her husband Johnny B. Massey.  She is survived by her husband Danny Bosley, son James Williams, granddaughter Emilee Williams; brother Mike Moore and wife, Shari Moore; sister Shelley Moore Martinez and husband, Jim McDonnell, father Charles Moore; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, plus aunts and uncles.  She cherished her large family.
