Juana Ventura De Villatoro

Juana Elvira Ventura De Villatoro was born July 12, 1930 in Tulima, El Salvador, and passedaway peacefully in her home November 24, 2020 surrounded by family in Mexia TX.

She was the third to youngest of 9 children born to Eleno Ventura and Sofia Sorto deVentura. Juana is proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Jose Maria Villatoro Vanegas; her son Mario Rigoberto at the age of 6; her son Jose Maria (AKA: Chema) at the age of 59; four babies, that each passed away at a couple weeks old; four brothers and four sisters.

At the age of 17, she married Jose Maria Villatoro Vanegas on June 10, 1948 in Anamoros, El Salvador. Once married they moved to El Tizate, El Salvador, where they built their home and raised their children. Later, following her children she moved to Dallas TX. She was active and concerned in the upbringing of many of her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them and teaching them. Many of her children and grandchildren also share memories while watching some of her favorite "telenovelas.” While living in Dallas, she began studying the Bible with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Enjoying and loving what she was learning, she decided to dedicate her life to serve Jehovah on July 12, 1997. She was an active participant in sharing what she learned from the Bible.

In July of 2000, she bought her house in Mexia TX where she made a new home. Mama Juana, as she was known to all those who loved and knew her, was strict, many remember her having a strong left arm, yet very loving, helpful, caring, loyal, giving, sassy, and loved God.  She enjoyed gardening, keeping her home tidy and spending afternoon naps on a hammock. Mama Juana loved music and singing, a love that she shared with her siblings from a young age. She enjoyed passing down stories from her childhood to her children and grandchildren. Entertaining and cooking were some of her favorite past times. She is remembered as being hospitable and welcoming.

She will be remembered with love by her surviving family: her son Dimas and his wife, Gladys; her son Mario and his wife, Yolanda; her son Edwin Giovanni; her daughter Reina and her husband, Francisco; her daughter Maria Tiburcita; her daughter Haydee and her husband, Rafael; her daughter Digma, and her husband, Pedro; her daughter Luz and her husband, Omar; her daughter Milagro and her husband, Jose; and her daughter in law, Donnie Holland Villatoro who was married to Jose Maria; and her twenty-one grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
