Juanita Dale Johansen, of Bullard, passed away August 5, 2020 in Tyler, Texas at the age of 99.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in the Mexia Cemetery.

Juanita was born January 13, 1921 in Mexia, Texas to G. S. and Maude M. Hendrix McClintock.  She grew up in Mexia and was a graduate of Mexia High School.  On June 6, 1942, she married Julian Roy Johansen, Jr. in San Angelo, Texas.  They raised their daughters and spent many years traveling together as Roy completed his career with the Air Force.

Juanita was very outgoing.  She enjoyed visiting with people and reminiscing about the “good ole days”, which she had many to discuss.  She was blessed with good health, a good mind and the ability to remain in her own home for her entire life.  Juanita had been in a bowling league since the 1950’s, and, had plans to continue with the league in September 2020.  She also enjoyed going to the “Boats” in Bossier City, loved candy and was well-known for making the best peach cobbler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, G. S. and Maude Hendrix; her husband of almost 50 years, Roy Johansen, Jr.; grandson, Kirk Rinehart; and brother, Everette McClintock.

Juanita is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Rinehart and husband, Charles Smith and Tina Bullard all of Bullard; grandchildren, Rene’ Owens, Charlie Bullard and Brooks Rinehart; and nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
