Sue was born November 7, 1947 in Bay City, Texas to Leon and Joyce Collins Bullington.  She graduated from Mexia High School, Class of 1966.  Sue’s desire and love for nursing began while in high school where she was a member of the Future Nurses.  Continuing her dream, she received her LVN license from Navarro College and her RN license from El Centro College.  Her nursing career spanned 30 plus years with the Mexia State School.

Sue married her high school sweetheart, Donald Sanderson, on November 17, 1966 in the First Baptist Church in Tehuacana, Texas.  They were blessed with two daughters, Lori and Tammy.   As a longtime active member of Calvary Baptist Church, she enjoyed participating in many activities that included singing in the choir.  She loved to travel and went on many trips around the U.S with various family members and organizations such as The Sunshine Singers. She loved the water so trips to the Texas coast, where she grew up, were always a favorite place for her to visit. Her dogs had a special place in her life and gave her great comfort; she also loved the horses, cows, and of course Dorie the donkey.  Sue was a great seamstress who could make or repair anything.  Many good times were had with family and friends, especially with the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Joyce Bullington; son-in-law, John Cook; brother-in-law, Johnny Sanderson; niece Shelli Larson; and parents-in-law, John and Aline Sanderson.

Sue is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald Sanderson of Mexia; daughters Lori Cook and James Younger of Hartshorne, OK and Tammy Schulte and husband, Blaine of Lorena; grandchildren: Jamie Nodine and husband, Steven, Julie Mayfield and husband, Brent, Justin Cook and wife, Kourtney, Brittany Schulte and Sam Báez, and Bethany Schulte and Jonathan Haddock; great grandchildren: Jessica Nodine, Steven Nodine, Jr., Vanessa Nodine, Quinten Nodine, Dameon Cook, Lilly Gresham, Logan Nodine, Kylie Mayfield, Matthew Mayfield, Catelynn Mayfield, Zadie Mayfield, Allison Cook and Amelia Arroyo-Báez; sister, Kay Draughn; brother-in-law, Richard Sanderson; and sister-in-law, Brenda Ridge and Charlie Morris; nephews Buster Horn and wife Brenda, Jeff Horn, Jason Ridge and wife Angela, niece Rhonda Warner and husband Jeff; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
